Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, driven by the Mental Health Foundation.
The theme this year is #ConnectWithNature. 🌷🌳🌾
If you know or follow me, you'll have guessed I am a huge fan of being in the great outdoors and I love the #hikemoreworryless approach. 🏞️
But we're not all hikers, we don't all live with close access to acres of countryside.
So it's good to know that even...
Nurturing a house plant
Sitting in your local park watching the birds and squirrels or feeding the ducks
Strolling along some tree-lined streets
Enjoying your balcony or garden...
...will contribute to a sense of wellbeing.
I'll talk more about connecting with nature throughout this week.
But let's start by reflecting on how we can connect with nature in some small way even today.
❓Can you stop and sip a hot or cold drink while listening out for birdsong?
❓Can you look out of a window and just absorb the colours and textures of trees and shrubs within your view?
❓What about looking at the sky and really noticing the clouds passing overhead?
I hope you enjoy a moment with nature today!
