About Me
Hello! I'm Fiona Prendergast. Helping people is in my nature and it’s what I do every day.

I help people of all ages overcome stress, anxiety, depression, fears and phobias.
I help people get in control of their eating and relationship with food so they can reach their weight and health goals. I help others get on top of their drinking habits.
I help people cope with change and loss, or manage the effects of physical pain and illness.
I help people cope better with life in general.

I do this with a very effective tool: solution focused hypnotherapy. And I am passionate about what I do.

Here’s why:

Have you ever felt like you're a shadow of who you used to be? I've been there. A series of life events had piled stress onto stress, and anxiety was impacting my work and personal life.
The NHS was not able to provide effective support in the timeframe I needed it and I felt that I didn't want or need counselling or psychoanalytical therapy.

I didn't want to revisit or unpick any past events or experiences, I just wanted to get back to the real me - the version of myself who coped happily with work and life and who lifted others up. And I wanted to do it quickly.

But how?

In my corporate life I'd been on leadership courses which had taught me a bit about neuroscience and how the mind works. What I'd learned helped me realise that my mind was running unhelpful programmes. I was stuck in some behavioural patterns I wanted to be rid of.

With a bit of research, I realised hypnotherapy could help, and then discovered solution focused hypnotherapy.
The idea that it would help me crack on and move forward, rather than introspect about past events and re-visit unwanted emotions, really appealed.

Within a handful of appointments I was back to the happy, productive, sociable Fiona I wanted to be. I was back in control of my thought patterns, emotions and behaviour.
Yay! But what then?

As someone who's coached and mentored people both formally and informally throughout my work and personal life, I just hadn't found anything as effective and long-lasting as solution focused hypnotherapy.

It’s life-changing. As one happy client said to me: “It’s as close to magic as you can get.”

I also love all the science, research and evidence behind it, and the fact you can share this with the client so they understand their own mind better. You give them knowledge they will have for life.

I decided I wanted to learn how to deliver this powerful therapy so that I could really help and empower people to overcome anxiety and depression in particular, and so they too could step into the best versions of themselves.

Whatever I am doing in life, I aim to do to the best standard I can. That is why I chose to train with Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT). This is the gold standard of hypnotherapy training and only 20% of hypnotherapists in the UK hold this level of qualification – I am one of them.

And now?

Now I use my training and experience to free people of anxiety, stress, depression, fears and phobias, OCD and smoking, or to manage weight, build self-esteem or tackle life or career changes.

You can draw further confidence from the fact that I am registered with the CNHC, NCH and AfSFH. I am fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and I have a BA Hons degree.
And when I'm not working...

I live in beautiful Malvern, Worcestershire.

The Malvern Hills, officially classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), are a big part of my life.
I enjoy them most days on walks, hikes or trail runs with one or both of my dogs.
The hills are definitely one of my top happy places and inspired the name of my practice.
Worcestershire Beacon is the highest peak of the hills and is a wonderful place to absorb the beauty of our area and to gather perspective.
