My Approach

Before I tell you about the hypnotherapy itself, the main thing you need to know is that sessions with me are calming and restorative. They are a positive experience and clients leave feeling better than when they arrived.

That's because, unlike some other types of therapy, there is no need to revisit painful emotions and past events.

Using solution focused hypnotherapy specifically, the client is encouraged to focus on the present and the future - how the client would like these to be. We work on building achievable, positive steps towards a positive outcome.

This approach is based on the latest understanding of how the brain works. Advances in neuroimaging  and therefore neuroscience in the last 30 years inform the clinically proven method I am trained in and use.

Hypnotherapy is a safe, powerful psychotherapeutic tool which can be used to break negative cycles and support the creation and implementation of new, desirable patterns.

Simply put, I help the client to harness the helpful areas and processes of their mind to form solutions that will help achieve their goals - whether that's reducing stress, managing eating, or overcoming a phobia.

Hypnotherapy can in fact help with a myriad of conditions and symptoms that we wish to be free from or take control of:

  • Stress and Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Anger

  • OCD

  • Poor sleep

  • Drinking too much

  • Panic Attacks

  • Chronic pain

  • IBS

  • Fear and Phobias

  • Poor self esteem

  • Weight management

  • Smoking

  • Coping with loss or change

Hypnotherapy uses the application of hypnotic techniques to bring about therapeutic change and is a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

In spite of the deeply relaxed sensation, the client remains aware and in control at all times.

I am qualified with a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma from The Clifton Practice and I am a member of the Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Council for Hypnotherapists (NCH).  I treat people in my consulting room in Malvern or online over Zoom.

The number of sessions needed will vary. Treatment of phobias, for example, would usually require three sessions. Treatment of depression or anxiety may require six to ten sessions. Quitting smoking – a single session.

Whichever condition you want to overcome, or goal you want to reach, we will always have an initial consultation for which there is no charge. This is your chance to understand the process and how it can help, and to meet me, before you decide whether you would like to book the therapy.

If you have any questions at all about solution focused hypnotherapy in the meantime, don't hesitate to give me a call or drop me a line.
