Self-care activities

Self-care takes all forms. My own treat to myself today was an evening walk, purposefully timed to coincide with the sunset. I understand how important it is to slow down and unwind, and I've learned that this is what works for me. For others it might be crafting, reading, baking, watching TV, playing an instrument or listening to music. It could be a bath, meeting up with a friend or going to the gym. It doesn't matter what it is we do to unwind... the important thing is that we do it.
As you know, I help clients achieve their goals using a solution focused approach. I never suggest what it is they need to do to help them on their path. Instead I just enable them to access all their intellectual resources so that they can see clearly for themselves what serves them best. On my own personal journey to better mental health, I've learned that hiking and running benefits me more than a soak on the bath. For a start, I'm more likely to do the former, but I also get a lot out of connecting with nature. What do you think the answer would be for you? What's your best self-care activity? What leaves you feeling calmer and more relaxed?
